The Bay Area Indo American Lions Club
The Bay Area Indo American Lions Club (BAIALC) was chartered on 06/08/2006. The driving force behind this club was Ray Maglalang who is currently the Region 2 Chair- Lions Clubs Int'l. District 4-C6 with Chris Morris our current Governor. Under the guidance of Lion Ray Maglalang and Lion Joe Pugliese this club is growing at a phenomenal rate.
The San Francisco Bay Area is home to a large number of Indian Americans. This is the first Lions Club that has been chartered in North America with the support of the local Indo Americans, with one voice – “To Serve”.

Amit Inamdar is an active Real Estate Broker and owner of Own Sweet Home Realty, a Fremont based real estate firm. Amit has been actively involved in the community and is the founding president of the Bay Area Indo American Lions Club. Amit is actively involved in the Indian community being served on organizations like MMBA (Maharashtra Mandal Bay Area) and member of Council of Indian American Realtors, California & National Association of Realtors, and homebuilder association of Northern California. Amit is married with two children and is a long time resident of Fremont. Herewith Amit's leadership in the Bay Area Indo-American Lions club, the Lions team is actively pursuing members forparticipation and identifying projects for helping the needy.

Manisha Shah-Ryan was born and raised in Mumbai India in a traditional patriacal Hindu joint family of sixteen members. She has a multi-disciplined academic base with post-graduate degrees from India and Britain. Subjects vary from psychology, education and design, ancient Indian culture and law. The last fifteen years she had been practicing corporate and global immigration law. Her work had made her home between three cities Mumbai-London-New York. She has moved to the bay area since 2003. Now lives with her husband Nick Ryan and her two young cats. She is interested in performing arts and world philosophies. She is a avid collector of art and artifacts. Manisha shares with joy and insight her cultural heritage and her vision of world community. She promotes her mission of global peace by being a medium to foster friendship, understanding via talks arts and cultural exchange programs.

Indu Jayakumar has been living in the Bay Area for over 25 years and is a very active participant in community activities. She volunteers in various organizations and holds leadership positions in many. Indu is a tireless volunteer while managing a successful business in the web applications sector. One of her passion is to end poverty in the world and give a helping hand to the unfortunate but, talented individuals! She is married and has a supportive family, with her husband Jay Jayakumar, and daughters Shruti and Shamita.
